Stygian Crown

barleybase Traditional and doom meet in the halls of this album. The riffs move from chugging to drenching with ease, and the amazing vocals soar over everything with a deadly grace. Driven by a rhythm and drum section that binds everything together. This is an excellent listen that you won't want to put down. Favorite track: Two Coins for the Ferryman.
Metallurgical Fire
Metallurgical Fire thumbnail
Metallurgical Fire Too many modern bands on certain big labels have this squeaky clean production, and weak drums that diminish the power of heavy metal or doom. That’s not at all the case with Stygian Crown. This album is pure power. The vocals are next level. The riffs? Perfect. This is an awesome record. Favorite track: Flametongue.
KillingForCompany
KillingForCompany thumbnail
KillingForCompany A debut LP, a flag firmly pierced within the US trad metal landscape. Epic Doom with a rough edged rhythm section. This release is merely the arrival, a glorious battlefield is on the horizon for Stygian Crown. Favorite track: Up From The Depths.
Gabriel
Gabriel thumbnail
Gabriel Heavy and hard-hitting with incredible vocals and riffs. One of the best records 2020 has to offer. Favorite track: When Old Gods Die.

In a place where the sun sets, at the edge of the world All your deeds lie in judgment, all your pleas will be heard Scales of justice weigh your fate Salivating jaws await She is three beasts of one flesh, demigod with no throne Bound to serve out the ages, she devours hearts of stone Scales of justice weigh your fate Salivating jaws await Days of mercy like bones to dust Come forth thieves and liars Your time has grown dire Tomb of heavy hearts, tearing souls apart The devoured, the divine The devoured, the divine Feast upon our eyes Evil cannot hide We will judge you all Pray the feather falls Your salvation or your doom Life eternal or your tomb The devoured, the divine The devoured, the divine Your salvation or your doom Life eternal or your tomb Now the beast grows impatient Judges settle your score Feather soars to the heavens Your heart sinks to the floor Scales of justice seal your fate Salivating jaws await Days of mercy like bones to dust

Leave me to my infinite feast You do not belong here Lest you wish to feed this beast Go back from where you once came With no sword, neither by spear Just the might of your bare hands Stare into the six eyes of hate Up from the depths into the light I’m dragged into a world gone blind A burning hatred from my eyes Subjected to a world gone blind The piercing sun, I’m overcome A curse upon the sunlight Adamant chains, a hero has claimed Am I a prize or condemned? Throne of the king, the praises they sing The black hound of Hades Mortal succumb, immortal become Up from the depths into the light I’m dragged into a world gone blind A hatred blazing in my eyes Subjected to a world gone blind Serpents form his mane Rage, fear and pain Howl - the call of the dead Shame, awe and dread Vengeance within my eyes Born of pitch and fire Bound shackled and beat Break the chains at my feet Before the dawn, I reach Acheron Home - it has been so long I cross the gates so weary, so worn Just as the sun crests the sky Hades awaits, a thralldom of graves I return to his side Service for life, a servant of death Up from the depths into the light I’m dragged into a world gone blind I choose sight Subjected to a world gone blind

The embers have grown cold In our barren stronghold We grow weary as the sun escapes the sky Days ago down below Lost dominion to our foes They await the scythe to cleanse us from the Earth Like razors to the flesh Down the vines to certain death We die free Through divine rite We descend into the black We may never come back We die free Through divine rite We’ve been shackled from the womb Lived our lives like men entombed Subjugated under heel and bloody lash And we toiled with sword in hand Spilling blood on Roman sands We’re a waking viper coiled around their necks Like razors to the flesh Down the vines to certain death We die free Through divine rite We descend into the black We may never come back We die free Through divine rite Rise! We are fury, we’re the end Their backs are exposed as we descend Rush - decimate their legionnaires Flay - open flesh, no one is spared Loose the arrows, charge the wall Before they sound the battle call Seize trebuchet and Roman steel Time for imperials to kneel No time to mourn what we have lost Our freedom comes at such a cost Make them beg us for their lives No quarter! No one will survive

Flametongue 08:08
Boundless cities of mortal man With spear and shield, they make their stand Waiting high from beyond their sight Silent death rains down from the skies Fire in the sky From the mountains to the sea Fire in the sky The echoes last eternally Everlasting fire They shall burn before its feet Glowing embers dance upon the wind As darkness closes, it shall descend Its shadow traces the mountainside And velvet wings suffocate the light Fire in the sky From the mountains ‘cross the sea Fire in the sky The dying sun, the coming eve Everlasting fire All shall burn for their defeat Beware the vengeance from the sky Behold the hate within its eyes Beware the serpent - of ancient times Beware the name you cannot speak Behold the endless misery Prepare to take your final breath Behold your death - on blackened wings Beware the vengeance in the sky Behold the hate within its eyes Beware the serpent of the ancient times Beware the name you cannot speak Behold the endless misery Prepare to take your final breath Behold your death! The endless horizon Reaper on the wind Visions of fire…visions in the flame Evil is rising Unhallowed misery Visions of fire....visions in the flame Fiery visions - Visions in the flame Fiery visions - Visions in the flame Beware the vengeance in the sky Behold the hate within its eyes Beware the serpent - of ancient times Beware the name you cannot speak Behold the endless misery Prepare to take your final breath Behold your death! Beware the vengeance in the sky Behold the hate within its eyes Beware the serpent - of ancient times Prepare to take your final breath Behold the dark shroud of your death Beware the serpent from the sky Behold the end!

Enemy of old Hungers for my end Hammer swinging down Man can’t comprehend No! Serpent from the deep Coiled around the world To face my oldest foe Watch as I unfurl The way the world ends The way the world ends When old gods die we start again The way the world ends Sun as black as coal Earth devoid of souls At last the tale is done But we have not won The way the world ends The way the world ends When old gods die we’ll meet again The way the world ends The way the world ends
7.
They come forth the vanguard of doom Vast as sight their banners of war Hear them sound their Clarion horn Trampled into the earth! Scarlet flames reach into the sky Choking embers blot out the sun Oh our cities razed ash Trampled into the earth Ruin has come for us all Steel on steel, burial ground Under their venomous gaze Visions of darkness, are visions no more! A plague to rob you of breath Behold the bringer of death Of death Of death Their death a stain on our soul Steel on steel! Blood, it shall flow Clawing our way to the grave Vanquished lie dead, trophied remains! Until there’s no one left Behold the bringer of death Death Death Ravens feasting upon their bones Skulls piled high like mountains of stones Soon their hunger rises again Trampled into the earth!

You’ve come from afar Thread cut from the skein You dare to tread here Where all must come clean You can take your soul Leave the rest ashore Take your soul All your weight must go This skiff has seen finer days The ages haven’t been kind If you weigh her down You’ll be lost for all time You can take your soul Leave the rest ashore Take your soul All your weight must go A pauper bearing empty hands A king with riches and demands A warrior’s medals and his fame Just clear the gangway of those claims A seer bringing words of dread A courtesan adorned in red A politician and his lies Will surely make us all capsize We sail down the Styx We’re destined for home Eternity waits This life all I’ve known You can take your soul Leave the rest ashore Take your soul All your weight must go You can take your soul (two coins for the ferryman) Leave the rest ashore (two coins for the ferryman) Take your soul (two coins for the ferryman) All your weight must go (two coins for the ferryman) Once battle scarred Now spineless men All greed and power Indifference Let it go!
